Are you angry? Angry with loved ones, angry with life, even angry with God? Do you feel disillusioned about life and distrustful of others? Did you know that these are classic hallmarks of post-traumatic stress disorder? After surviving a traumatic event, many people experience all of these things and more, which can disrupt every aspect of life. I hope it will encourage you to know that all of these reactions to trauma are completely normal and treatable. I have over a decade of experience helping women and kids/teens recover after a traumatic event. Whether a survivor of child sexual abuse, human trafficking, domestic violence, or even witnessing homicide, I have worked in all of these areas and more. Although each of these is tragic, my clients never cease to amaze me with their bravery and resilience. Many trauma survivors simply want to avoid the topic of their trauma and get on with their lives. However, avoidance is also a symptom of PTSD, and it is often the biggest barrier to healing. Don't wait any longer; get the help you deserve so that you can truly heal and move on with your life.
