Hello, my name is Rebecca Kern and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Texas. I have worked many years with individuals who are autistic. I love being able to make sessions creative so that they are meaningful to the person. I also love being able to help someone become the best version of themself. I used to be a teacher who had several students on the autism spectrum. As I completed my Master's Degree and became licensed, I knew that I wanted to continue working with those who have autism and use the experiences I had in teaching to enhance the type of therapy I can provide to individuals. I embrace diversity and inclusion and therefore enjoy being around people who also think differently. I look at the individual's strengths and use those strengths to help them become the best version of themselves. While some may try to mold and shape an individual with autism into something that they think they should be, I celebrate the individual's uniqueness and the contributions that they make.
