After graduating from George Mason University with a bachelor's degree, I went to Grand Canyon University to learn creative approaches and strategies to improve the services I provide to clients and the community. Prior to obtaining my master's degree, I worked with clients to assist them recognize the importance of mental health and self-care, combat the stigma associated with mental disorders, reduce prejudice against those who need therapy or medication, and foster self-compassion and resilience. I focus on integrative mental health therapy, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I also provide culturally sensitive treatment and speak Somali as a second language proficiently. I am currently seeing adults, couples, and adolescents. I believe in working together to identify opportunities for personal progress. My goal is to provide you with the expertise and skills necessary to obtain the resources you require to live a fulfilling life, which you may apply to all aspects of your life. I'm excited about the prospect of working with you to address life's daily challenges.
