The combination of strong anxiety and strong intellect poses special challenges for those caught in the crosshairs. I help individuals with active, analytical minds to work through anxiety-related problems such as panic, worry, avoidance, and compulsive thoughts or habits. The intersection of eating disorders and anxiety is a special focus of my practice. My approach is warm, practical, and evidence-based, grounded in both mindfulness and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Therapy with me is collaborative - you bring expertise on yourself, and I bring expertise on mental health. Together, we identify goals for therapy, and update them as you make progress (and as life throws curve balls). I keep you in the loop about what we're doing and why, and am receptive to your feedback. I welcome your individuality and your culture in the therapy room. In my 20+ years of practicing therapy with people from diverse backgrounds, I haven't met you before. I don't make assumptions about your experience - I'd rather learn about it directly from you.
