My mission as a Licensed Professional Counselor/Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor is to help my clients live a more healthy and meaningful life - in whatever way that may look for you. I have experience helping individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and histories of trauma or abuse. I have dedicated my educational and professional career to the understanding of trauma, and trauma treatment. As a US Army combat veteran, I have a vested interest in working with this population, in particular those presenting with combat trauma, PTSD, and military sexual trauma. While primarily utilizing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for treatment, I pull from a variety of clinical interventions and therapies to meet each client’s individual needs. Modalities included, but not limited to, are EMDR, PE (Prolonged Exposure), and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy). Other techniques will be utilized as needed. I recognize that it is challenging when one decides to take the first step towards resolution. I hope to ease that difficulty by offering a warm environment in which we can develop a relationship, and in that, I can provide the tools that will ultimately bring about change.
