About

I understand that symptoms and problems have meaning and I help patients to come to understand this meaning. Therapy loosens the forces that bind people to ways of living that have become unsatisfying. I seek to help patients understand themselves in a deep and complex way so that life becomes more free, more enriched, and more meaningful.

I have been an instructor and supervisor in psychology at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts Mental Health Center and I am faculty at Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I teach classes on sexuality, dreams, and childhood. I offer clinical consultations and supervision to other therapists.

As a psychologist and psychoanalyst, I am able to provide psychotherapy or psychoanalysis. I enjoy working with people who struggle with serious mental health issues as well as people who notice there is something more subtly troubling them or blocking them from living and loving more fully.
