Emotions are among our greatest human resources, though in the struggles of our lives we can think of them as problems to solve or avoid at all costs. My efforts as a therapist go towards utilization of the emotions and the experiences that elicit them, to bring about transformation and healing. I work with adults, children, teens, parents, couples, and draw from a large background of experience and training. This includes cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, attachment work, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and EMDR. However, the primary value guiding the work is that the therapeutic relationship guides everything. My interest in trauma work isn't separate from the other work I do, the priniciples have wide application. However, in trauma recovery , the interweaving of thoughts, emotions, and body is uniquely present. Understanding trauma is a key to understanding a host of other difficulties, as trauma exists in many forms. I hope it's not unique that I have maintained an expanding interest in learning and training, though it may be. What is unique is that I've had the excellent advantage of having some of the best teachers in the field. However, my most important teachers have been my clients.
