I work primarily with people who are dealing with anxiety or depression and my primary model of treatment is Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe that our difficulties are more often as result of how we are thinking about our problems rather than the problems themselves. CBT provides skills and tools for coping with your thoughts as well as the difficult emotions that come along with your thinking. CBT can also be helpful for procrastination or for being withdrawn. My professional work can be characterized as being active, empathetic, compassionate, energizing and motivational. CBT is a type of psychotherapy that helps you develop more skills in dealing with stress, anxiety or depression. It can be helpful to deal with social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, health worries, general worries, and panic. There is much research to show it is effective for many people I also use Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). A major goal of ACT is to help you work on developing a more meaningful life. Its components include mindfulness, tuning into what is truly important to you, and learning how to cope with difficult thoughts, emotions and sensations.
