In talk therapy I use a primarily cognitive-behavioral approach, bringing attention to the cycle of thoughts, feelings, and actions that are connected to our overall state of well-being. Working on that cycle can reduce anxiety, depression, and anger, and lead to more positive regard for ourselves and stronger relationships with the people in our lives. I also am certified to integrate mind-body awareness and healing with EMDR, a therapy that helps resolve intense feelings about painful past experiences, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a music program that helps regulate the nervous system and improve related symptoms. I believe that establishing a warm therapeutic relationship helps you move toward your goals. I work with you to identify your personal goals and understand options for reaching them. I have worked with adults and adolescents in private practice, university, and hospital settings. I am happy to submit insurance claims for sessions for clients working in and out of network with me, and offer sliding scale fees if needed.
