Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My ideal therapy situation is working with a client who is hoping to explore options to resolve circumstances that are causing them pain and discomfort. This will undoubtedly involve personal change, so a willingness to look at self and the courage to take steps to move forward are necessary. Recognizing how difficult this can be, therapy requires a safe and brave space allowing the client to practice vulnerability which leads to openness to change. My person-centered approach places the client in the “driver’s seat”, allowing them to set the pace but with guidance and support to push forward. Relationship issues, particularly those resulting from addictive and compulsive disorders, is a specialty area of mine. Psychoeducation is centered around understanding family-of-origin issues, unhealthy relationship patterns and self-defeating behaviors. With this knowledge and the supportive, accepting therapeutic connection, change is possible. If you would like to know more about myself as a therapist or whether or not this process is right for you, please feel free to reach out. I’m more than happy to chat with you to answer your questions and help you with your decision to make this commitment to yourself. You deserve it!
