About

Over the past 35 years, I've had the privilege of working with individuals in a multitude of environments from residential facilities to outpatient community mental health clinics. My experience has taught me the importance of respecting one's humanity through the use of a compassionate, nonjudgemental, and supportive approach. It is my firm belief that we all have the capacity for change. There is an inherent resilient nature within us that can be strengthened and utilized to achieve goals. My practice is directed toward empowering individuals to build on their strengths. I value "seeing the person and not the diagnosis".

I have experience working with anxiety, stress management, depression, grief, sexual victimization, situational life changes, shame, and problematic sexual behavior. My use of therapies include Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused, Mindfulness Meditation, as well Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Aside from various treatment models the therapeutic relationship remains the foundation for any beneficial treatment mode.

I do not endorse the philosophy "Do what I say and not as I do". My experience as a professional has been to "practice what I preach" thereby recognizing my own humanity. My practice is utililized in my daily personal life in my relationships, parenting, and profession.
