The attempt to ignore or suppress emotions, the pressure to "get over it", is where feelings of anxiety, depression, anger and loneliness thrive. I believe in the intelligence of our internal emotional system, viewing symptoms not as a problem to be solved but a roadmap to follow towards feeling and functioning better. The process of therapy will connect you with the internal resources needed to navigate life from a calmer and more connected space. I am trained in a variety of treatment methods: EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), PE for PTSD (Prolonged Exposure) and Somatic Body Work. If you're new to therapy or attempting to engage in therapy again, it is really normal to be nervous about the process. Finding the right fit is essential, so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
