I believe healing happens in relationships and pride myself in being a warm, cheerful, direct, open-minded therapist who empowers clients to reach their goals and improve their quality of life. I recognize that the first session with a new therapist can be intimidating, so I work to make clients feel comfortable and safe to share their struggles. Change does not always progress linearly and may feel unattainable at times, but I believe in meeting people where they are. Having a supportive and knowledgeable therapist can facilitate your growth and help you feel confident in handling the changes life throws your way. I take a positive, holistic approach to therapy, highlighting client strengths and checking in with the mind and body. Therapy is a collaborative process where the clients determine therapy goals and the pace of sessions. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR therapy and use modalities that focus on mindfulness, acceptance, and motivation. I graduated with a Master's degree from the Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University, focusing on trauma-informed therapy. I then worked as a medical social worker treating patients at home and in the skilled nursing setting. Now as an LCSW, I work with couples, families, teens, and adults and have practiced in the field for the last 8 years.
