Taking the first step to seek therapy can be challenging, but it is also an act of bravery. You have been struggling for a while attempting to overcome these struggles on your own, but the truth is you don’t have to do it alone. As one of my favorite quotes says, “we don’t have to do all of it alone, we were never meant to” (Brene Brown). Throughout our therapy experience, we will work collaboratively to identify values and goals that are meaningful to you, potential self-doubting thoughts, or past circumstances hindering you from reaching those goals. But most importantly, I will listen to you. When you walk through my office door, my warm, authentic, and empathic personality will create a safe space where you will feel comfortable and vulnerable to let yourself feel your emotions and process past experiences. We will begin by getting to know each other and developing our relationship, and I will take the necessary time to foster your trust. Once you are comfortable, we will jointly explore current strengths, potential areas needing improvement, while helping you acquire coping skills tailored to your daily life to assist with focusing on the present, along with changing negative thinking patterns that may be contributing to your suffering.
