Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I specialize in college adjustment/ stress, anxiety, depression, body image issues, eating disorders, & obsessive compulsive disorder. My therapeutic approach is practical and flexible, grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and exposure therapy. I find that people often assume that they “should” know how to approach therapy. In reality, the process may not be quite so simple and may feel confusing. Thus, I frequently have conversations with my clients about how to use therapy and ongoing dialogues about our work together.
At the beginning of therapy, I collaborate with clients to help them set goals related to desired changes. We next determine together which approach(es) fit their needs and then work together to understand their challenges, leverage their strengths, and build skills or new ways of responding to stress.
I am happy to answer any questions you might have and to talk with you about individual therapy. Please contact me to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation during which we can discuss starting to work together.
