About

I have worked extensively with adolescents and adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, anger management issues, self-esteem issues, behavioral issues, and substance abuse issues. I also work with people who have suffered trauma and experience symptoms of PTSD and ADHD. I have also found that a strong mind/body connection can be especially helpful for clients who have trouble with focus and concentration. Teaching clients to connect and trust in their own inner wisdom (sometimes called our "gut instinct") can help them have more confidence in their own abilities and the choices they make.

In today's technological society, it can be challenging to remain centered and grounded. This can lead to anxiety, an inability to focus and concentrate, behavioral issues, lack of social skills, and other issues that are rooted in fear. I use a mindfulness based CBT technique to help clients find the source of their symptoms of anxiety and depression.

This mindful connection can help us to be more aware of our triggers, the issues at hand, and can help us to make better/healthier choices. In other words, we are much more able to stop and think before we react when we are in the wise mind instead of the emotional mind. I incorporate other techniques from other therapy styles such as IFS, CBT, and Hakomi.
