I am a Ghanaian American and a military spouse (U. S. Navy), born and raised in Ghana. In 2006, my father moved my siblings and I to join him in the States. I finished high school and wanted to be a Pediatrician. So, I went ahead to pursue a degree in Biology. Things took a different turn when I took the beginners course in Psychology . The light bulb switched a brighter turn for me. I loved everything about the course and wanted to learn more about it. I changed my major to Psychology and minored in Childhood Studies at Christopher Newport University with the intention of still working with children and adolescents. After, I graduated from Grand Canyon University with MSc in Professional Counseling; I worked with adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, and PTSD during my internship. The well-being of my clients is my utmost priority and I am always ready to meet them where they are. Thus, to help them create new coping skills to regulate a healthy behavior. Since healing is not linear, I have always incorporated therapeutic strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Emotional Focused Therapy. I work with adolescents and adults. However, I would love to work with couples as well.
