I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I see clients from age 12 - 95. I have many years of experience in specializing with adolescents and families as well as with those people suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder or symptoms like that disorder including chronic suicidality and/or self-harm. Other issues that I frequently address include Dissociative Disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders and chronic medical conditions. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive/behavioral treatment developed specifically for clients struggling with self-harm and suicidality and is also effective in treating substance abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders (Borderline and Obsessive/Compulsive), anxiety and mood disorders. It focuses on teaching and acquiring skills to manage emotions, behaviors, relationships and self. I worked for many years at the Menninger Clinic and served on the faculty of the clinic's Marriage and Family Therapy program. I have been practicing DBT since 1998. I completed Intensive Training in DBT in 2004. I am now in solo practice located in central Wichita, KS in an office overlooking the river.
