About

I am very passionate about working with people of color and those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal as a therapist is to help clients connect to their own personal voice, strengths and resources to begin the process of reconstructing their personal narrative. Trust and safety is what I bring to the room. These are vital factors in facilitating change. Within the therapeutic realm, each client can feel empowered to make healthy and constructive choices that will navigate them on their road to recovery.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience working with a variety of populations who have mental health and substance use disorders. My approach to therapy is collaborative, strength based, creative and direct. In becoming more mindful and compassionate toward oneself, each client will learn the necessary skills to manage their lives more effectively.

I view recovery from trauma, mental illness and addiction as a spiritual process. One's loss of hope, meaning and identity can keep one suffering. I address not only the presenting symptoms, but the layers that exist around the core issues. My hope for my clients is to feel capable and secure in themselves, while creating a life worth living.
