About

While there are many excellent therapists, the question of best fit is vital. My therapeutic approach honors suffering and difference. Therapy is a place for healing through words, stories, and a trusting relationship. Through this relationship new narrative possibilities arise, as empathy and compassion open a path for creative collaboration. The goal of this approach is relief from old narratives and relationship patterns that no longer serve you. As you develop greater insight and awareness, you gain the freedom to make more intentional decisions about how and who you want to be.

It is a privilege to be invited into your inner world, and - like any good guest - I believe that respect is foremost. I offer my earnest curiosity and desire to know you and that which afflicts you. My approach is flexible, informed by psychoanalysis and drawing from many other schools.

In addition to psychotherapy, I co-authored and co-edited the book Lives Interrupted: Psychiatric Narratives of Struggles and Resilience, which explores lived experiences with psychosis and underscores the importance of narrative truths in the healing process.
