About

Michelle provides mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. She has over ten years of experience working with clients directly impacted by abuse and trauma. Intrinsically, Michelle believes we are all capable of accomplishing our own individual goals of growth, healing, and/or change when we’re open to trusting the therapeutic process. Michelle values the importance of a strong therapeutic bond with her clients, built on mutual respect, honesty, genuine rapport, and therapeutic humor. She also believes that therapy should be a collaborative journey with her clients and the caregivers of her child clients.

Michelle is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is trained in Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which are all evidence-based forms of treatment. Michelle recently received her certificate as an EMDR Child Specialist.

Michelle in the past has worked in the school setting providing counseling to historically underserved youth, in a children’s advocacy center with survivors of child abuse and their non-offending family members, and in a domestic violence agency, where she worked with both victims and their children in their healing process and with the perpetrators of DV.
