Michele Simmons

Morton, Illinois 61550 United States

About

Michele has an extensive history in the field of social work that provided her with a well rounded foundation for helping families and individuals as they faced life challenges and transitions. Michele had the privilege of working in Hospice, offering support and counseling through grief, loss and existential crises. Michele is a CSAT candidate and has begun her certification in Attachment-Based Family Therapy and completed Level-2 training in the Gottman Method.

Being a strong advocate for healing attachment ruptures and injuries, Michele holds that attachment needs are at the core of our basic needs. Using the metaphor of a structurally sound house, if the foundation of a house is not secure, the rest of the structure is at risk for damage as are those living within.

Michele’s specialized training through IITAP for sex-addiction therapy is wrought from her personal experience as a betrayed partner. As such, Michele brings compassion, hope, and her own journey to walk alongside both the betraying partner and the betrayed partner in finding their healing.
