Hello, my name is Michael, and I am a fourth-year student in West Chester University's PsyD program. First, best wishes to you as you search for an effective helper on your journey. I provide therapy and assessment services at Newark Behavioral Health in Newark, DE. I have worked with adolescent and adult clients in community mental health, inpatient substance use treatment, and college counseling centers. I have experience evaluating and treating depression, anxiety, panic attacks, substance use, ADHD, and more. Whether you have a focused set of things to work on, or are unsure, I am happy to help. I have trained primarily using cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based techniques. I aim to draw from this toolkit to collaborate with you and provide the most helpful treatment. Whether our work together is structured, or is simply you and I having a safe space to talk, what is most important is that it helps you reach your goals. Kirk Schneider and Rollo May compare therapy to Virgil and Dante’s journey in Dante’s Inferno: “Virgil… does not intend to ‘cure’ Dante; instead, he aims to be a fellow traveler ‘alive and present in Dante’s world.'” If you are suffering, I want to extend my compassion and encourage you to reach out for help. I would be happy to be with you on your journey.
