Mike completed his Master's degree in 1980 from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. He is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona since 2007. He has a great respect for cultural diversity having lived abroad for 26 years, learning two languages and practicing as a therapist in two different countries. In the last 22 years, he has lived in the States and worked as a general therapist dealing with many areas but especially working with people in the areas of relationships, anxiety, and depression. He has worked six years on the Hualapai Reservation in Peach Springs AZ as a therapist and the last 7 years as the Clinical Supervisor. He continues to carry a caseload as he has a passion for working with people and guiding them in learning to think differently about themselves in ways that encourage self-exploration and growth. He uses various theories from motivational interviewing to CBT but the emphasis is not on the theory but on how to make theory practical and tailored to the individual. He believes that mind, body, and soul all need to be nourished. His goal is to help clients achieve balance in their lives and their choices so that healing takes place.
