There are any number of issues that can impact an individual or couple for various reasons. In my experience, it is better to begin without making any assumptions and to give room for every client to voice their needs and concerns in their own unique way. In my view, the therapist's primary role is to offer unconditional support in order to promote each person's capacity for creating desirable change. I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment wherein my clients can address social and personal difficulties and needs, in confidence, without fear or judgement. My practice is experiential and psychodynamic with a strong affinity for Kohut’s self-psychology and Rogers’ unconditional regard for the individual. I offer both individual and couple counseling for adults 18 and over, including people who identify as LGBTQ and non-binary. I am an in-network provider for Aetna, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare. Clients can see me in my Upper West Side office, and I am also comfortable conducting remote telehealth sessions by telephone or video conference.
