Hello, I'm Dr. Melanie Cain and I am from the Santa Clara Pueblo and Jicarilla Apache tribes of Northern New Mexico. I am a licensed psychologist and have 17 years experience serving Veterans, American Indians and other communities of color. In my practice, I focus on the integration of culturally informed interventions, cognitive theories, and interpersonal modalities to create wellness and community connection. I look forward to helping create positive change within my clients lives. Life is not always predictable and I'm here to guide you through challenges and triumphs. I have helped others increase insight and new perspectives after sessions, while developing new approaches to managing concerns and meeting personal goals. I provide supportive, trauma informed care which focuses on the relationship between culture, health, and wellness. This includes understanding the role of cultural heritage, family dynamics, spiritual beliefs, and community influences. My goal is to maintain an open line of communication and provide guidance and support.
