I am Melanie Calhoun, an LAPC focusing on women’s issues and maternal mental health at Push Thru Therapy. My specialization lies in providing support to women facing life’s challenges, from everything in relationships, careers, and motherhood, such as mood and anxiety disorders and fertility issues, and navigating the impact of parenting on personal and professional aspects of life. My journey into the mental health field began with a desire to make a difference. After a marketing and management consulting career, I decided to transition into counseling. As a mother, I've faced the challenges of motherhood firsthand, which has ignited a passion to support others on this journey. During our sessions, you'll find a nonjudgmental space where we can explore your world together. My approach incorporates elements of Cognitive-Behavioral and Womanist Therapies to address your needs, whether that involves managing anxiety or depression or understanding family dynamics.
