About

Hi there, my name is Max and I am a student intern currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I first discovered my passion for helping others as a guitar teacher in Los Angeles, where I found that my students’ greatest obstacles in learning could be conquered by helping them to confront their own emotional barriers and fears. I got to watch their growth and mastery as they allowed themselves to make mistakes and granted themselves the patience to learn.

I spent time working as a crisis counselor for The Trevor Project supporting LGBTQ youth, which only deepened my desire to help others, particularly trauma survivors who are struggling to find a new path to regain control of their lives. My guiding philosophy is that healing from trauma is a journey that requires self-compassion and patience.

I’m honored to support clients along this path to recovery. If you've hit a roadblock in your own journey, please feel free to reach out and schedule an intake session with me. I currently intern at Carolinas Center for Evaluation and Treatment under supervision by Justina Floyd, MA, NCC, LCMHC-QS.
