My focus is working with teens and adults of all backgrounds on acute clinical issues which include: depression, anxiety, women's issues, medical conditions, and grief. Through my twenty years of teaching adolescents skills necessary to succeed in life, I have developed techniques to address self-esteem, self-confidence, management of emotions, relational aggression, communication and social skills, while managing everyday life stressors. I have also worked with students to develop impulse control, organizational and study skills while dealing with ADHD and other learning differences. My method to therapeutic counseling has a focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy . I am committed to assisting my clients explore challenges, goals, and solutions, in order to overcome obstacles and meet goals leading to lasting and meaningful changes in their lives. I have been a Registered Nurse for over thirty years and a Counselor since 2005. I draw on not only my professional experiences, but my life experience as a young widow, only parent to my daughter, and a Breast Cancer survivor, to help my clients reach their full potential.
