My name is Mary Calamia. I am a Clinical Social Worker, licensed in New York and Florida. I have worked for about 20 years as a psychotherapist and I truly love what I do - helping people to resolve their problems and to transform their lives. I have worked with clients with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, trauma, abuse, and difficulties adjusting to life changes. I also helped many people who have been living with a family member who is chemically dependent. I work with a variety of people with a variety of issues. I am not a cookie-cutter therapist who only likes to work with specific issues. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral counseling with affective (feelings) counseling as well. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My clients like to tell me that I am "real," meaning I don't use a lot of flowery languages to dance around a point. I speak directly, yet with sensitivity and respect.
