About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides therapy for adults and adolescents. I help many different types of people with many different types of problems. But, for most people, my overarching goal is to help them learn to live life as authentically as possible. We all learned strategies for coping with pain when we were younger, and even classic psychological "problems" are typically rooted in doing the best we can to cope with struggles. But these strategies (eg worrying, perfectionism, avoidance, numbness, 'toughness,') can also keep us from getting what we want as we get older, and don't allow our true self to flourish.

I like helping people figure out if there are new ways of interacting with the world that are a better fit for the present. A few examples of these new strategies might be: Being more open and vulnerable in relationships, taking more risks to get things you want, or acknowledging and facing past hurt and pain to help diffuse anger and depression.

For therapy to be effective, it's very important for you to like and trust your therapist! To help you get a feel for me and how I might be able to help, I offer all new clients a 30-minute initial consultation, free of charge. This consultation be done on the phone or via secure video conference. Please reach out if you'd like to talk!
