I have specialized on working issues linked with immigration process and the coexistent mental disorders as depression, anxiety and the impact of Domestic violence in each member of the family. I have worked in mental health clinics in Manhathan, Brooklyn, and Westchester. The Mental Health Association of America and the Psychiatric Foundation of America have both recognized me and my program with an Award for cultural competent intervention and advancing the mental health on minorities.

Over the years, I have been succesful treating couplesand families who have been struggling with the gap between cultures, assimilating and adjusting to the host society and modifiying roles in order to accomodate to the present demands and family structure.

I graduated in my Native country as a Clinical Psychologist and then I got my Masters degree as a social worker in the United States. This combination improves the quality of interventions and undesrtanding of Latino conflicts. I have a extensive experience working with a mixed latino comunity in non-profirt Mental Health clinics.
