I work collaboratively with clients to gain a full understanding of current problems, how they may have developed, and ways to make meaningful changes both internally and in one’s relationships. This might include skills based techniques such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, facing difficult emotions in a safe environment to gain a greater sense of control and acceptance around them, or understanding how past experiences may influence current emotional reactions. I specialize in improving relationship functioning and working with couples. I start a couples counseling session with an assessment which provides a detailed account of the strengths and challenges in a relationship. From there we work together to help each partner feel heard and understood so that those challenges can be addressed. If you are interested in individual or couples counseling, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have over the phone or via email.
