Hello, my name is Maria G. Avitia, LCSW License 120538. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, CA and I work with clients via telehealth. I work with adults and elderly population. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and stress using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work to help clients navigate their concerns and allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook in life. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently use CBT as a modality to assist clients build and understand their situation and learn coping skills. My communication style is calm, accommodating and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable and I take pride in using active listening skills. I decided to become a therapist to assist people with overcoming problems/concerns in their lives. The good feeling that is obtained by helping someone is extremely rewarding. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best version of themselves.
