About

I’m Dr. Cannon, or Margeaux. I am a Counseling Psychologist offering individual and couple therapy for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, OCD, addictive behaviors, career challenges, unsatisfying relationships, grief, perfectionism, stress, and other common experiences in today’s world. My goal is to empower clients with self-awareness and skills that enable them to help themselves, all within an empathetic, validating, and honest space for exploration and practice. I guide clients to hold themselves accountable while also encouraging patience, gentleness, and kindness toward themselves and others.

My therapy sessions are tailored to clients’ goals, values, and strengths. I incorporate CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. I emphasize mindfulness practice to help clients develop nonjudgmental awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, cultivate self-compassion, and build tolerance for uncomfortable experiences.

I’ve been a therapist for six years. My training at UAlbany focused on health psychology, specifically how people cope with life’s challenges in both helpful and unhelpful ways. I also managed resilience trainings at Penn’s Positive Psychology Center. If you think we might work well together, please click the “Become a Client” button on our homepage.
