Deciding to go to therapy can be overwhelming, and my first priority when we meet is to make sure you feel comfortable and heard. Therapy looks different for everyone, and we will collaborate closely to make sure you are getting what you need. I am committed to delivering collaborative, respectful, culturally competent, trauma-informed therapy that will meet you where you are and build on your strengths. I practice EMDR and integrate internal family systems/ego state therapy, attachment theory and polyvagal theory in my approach. Developing insight and awareness about the impacts of your past is a crucial step, but sustained change comes from mind-body approaches that reprocess "stuck" emotions and return your nervous system to a regulated state. If you’ve been in talk therapy before and feel like you have insight but struggle to sustainably create change, EMDR may be right for you. Or, we can stick with a more traditional talk therapy approach! Either way, in our work together, we will move at your pace through unprocessed experiences that are holding you back from the life you want to live.
