When we experience trauma, we often feel flooded with overwhelming emotions, physical sensations, and memories. I work with clients to help them identify the patterns their bodies and minds engage in due to past experiences. Once we recognize these patterns, we can encourage positive change. Through a trauma-informed approach and with the support of my equine co-therapist, we guide you in reconnecting with your body and understanding how trauma affects your nervous system. Together, we can explore how trauma manifests for you, reprocess those experiences, and work through challenging emotions. Engaging in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is an opportunity to integrate and reconnect with the help of our equine friends. Horses teach us how to regulate our emotions, be in the present moment, connect with our bodies, and build confidence. I integrate EAP with EMDR, DBR, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and somatic awareness. I currently offer therapy in my office in Kennebunk, via telehealth/in-person, or at the barn with the equines in Gray. My office/telehealth practice is separate from my Equine Practice. If you choose to engage in Equine-Assisted psychotherapy, that will be in person.
