Maddie is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a pre-licensed psychotherapist under supervision for LPCC licensure. She has immediate openings for telehealth or in-person therapy. She has a background as a writer that informs her approach to therapy. She believes in the importance of empowering people to develop and grow into their own story and tap into their own motivations for change. She also believes that building community support and connection is an integral part of the healing process. She has experience working with adults and adolescents (ages 14+). Maddie has experience working with a variety of issues including trauma, substance misuse, OCD, eating disorders, body image issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts. She has specialized training in perinatal mental health (the pregnancy and postpartum period) and is also training in EMDR, a type of evidence-based trauma therapy. Maddie's therapeutic style is influenced primarily by mindfulness-based approaches. She also has training in ERP for OCD. Her calm and empathetic demeanor helps create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients that promotes the process of change and self-exploration. She approaches therapy through a harm reduction and strengths-based lens.
