Luciana offers culturally sensitive psychotherapy to children who may struggle with anxiety, behavioral issues, learning and intellectual disabilities, and school challenges. She utilizes an emotionally focused strength-based approach to help children understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and their body’s physical reactions. Children can develop and strengthen their self-confidence, impulse control, and coping skills through this holistic process. Luciana incorporates strategies from various therapy modalities to encourage emotional awareness, regulation, and expression.
Luciana, a licensed Master Social Worker, serves as a school social worker in Fairfax County Public Schools. With a background in Community Health and a Master of Clinical Social Work, she's pursuing Clinical Social Work licensure and is a doctoral student focusing on mental health and developmental disorders.
Luciana is a member of the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog. Luciana also enjoys traveling, reading, and going to the beach. She is fluent in English and Portuguese.
