Sometimes life can feel so overwhelming that it seems the only thing we can do is numb out, shut down, give into addiction, dissociation, or other forms of self-injury. One way out of this is to build our capacity to tolerate feeling. Navigating these stormy seas within ourselves can feel impossible to do on ones own. We're not meant to do this alone. Your unique experiences deserve to fall upon the ears of an empathetic and attuned listener who can help you find your bearings and learn to rework the damage that has been endured in order to heal wounds and grow new psychic skin. We can learn to survive what has seemed unsurvivable. There are many descriptors for psychic pain and injury: depression, anxiety, borderline, trauma, bipolar, psychosis, obsession, grief - by working together psychoanalytically we can begin to transcend impasses and break painful patterns in order to move towards the experience of greater transformation and aliveness. My approach is steeped in a deep regard for psychoanalytic study, theory, and practice and draws on my creative background. I offer a place where growth and change are promoted through the balance of acceptance and challenge necessary to gain new perspectives, overcome internal barriers, and experience new and more fulfilling ways of being.
