I'm a psychologist and psychoanalyst who practices in Middleburg, Virginia and in Chevy Chase, Maryland (Friendship Heights), right on the border of Washington, DC. I provide psychological evaluation, psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to kids (ages 12 on up) and professionals. With teens and pre-teens, I have expertise in helping the anxious kid feel comfortable in their own skin. With adults, I have expertise in anxiety, work-life balance, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, self-assertion, sexuality and other difficulties. I work with people struggling with an array concerns. In some cases, I provide very short-term support and in other situations, I find that long-term psychotherapy, including intensive psychotherapy, may be most useful. In addition to my practice, I have significant experience supervising George Washington University doctoral students in psychology and teaching psychoanalysts-in-training. Currently, I am on the faculty of the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute and I Co-chair, the Psychoanalytic Fellowship Program. If you are considering consultation, I welcome your call.
