Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Therapy can help client's take that first step. My style is interactive and goal-oriented. I use evidence-based models to help client's explore and reach desired goals, overcome obstacles preventing growth and self-awareness, both necessary aspects to feeling better to improve well-being and quality-of-life. We explore the six dimensions of wellness, examine relationships, with individual or couples therapy and look at behaviors to find an appropriate balance. We examine changing maladaptive negative behaviors, and replacing them with positive life-enriching behaviors. Therapies: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy, and the Gottman Method Couples therapy. My specialties include Bereavement, Couples/Marriage counseling, Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and PTSD. Starting therapy can bring up many different emotions for individuals. My approach is to work at the client's pace. To help the client feel comfortable, and work with the client on the goals the client feels are most important to them. Further, to make the therapy experience safe and empower the client with skills to improve their situations and behaviors.
