About

My therapeutic approach to therapy is client-centered, based on the belief that every person brings a unique and formative personal, family, and cultural experience. I have been influenced by Adlerian psychology, with emphasis on the healing power of a therapist-client relationship. I focus on who you are and how you experience yourself, strengths and “growth edges”, past and current relationship experience, and your style of relating, in addition to biological experiences on behavior and the influence of culture/society on you and your concerns.

Many of the challenges in clients' lives stem from trouble within the various relationships that they are involved in. Utilizing this strength-based approach helps clients discover and utilize their own individual strengths to overcome their current challenges. I also utilize CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy modalities.

I believe that a therapeutic relationship is the most important component for the therapy process to be effective and worthwhile. Change happens when people feel heard and understood. I strive to create a collaborative, safe, and accepting environment for clients to be able to explore their emotional needs and work toward change.
