About

My approach to therapy is grounded in respect and curiosity. I work to create a space for dialogue that honors contradictions, unearths complex meanings, and enables learning and growth. Who you are, what is on your mind, what you are struggling with, what you care about – these questions are at the heart of the process. This means that each therapy relationship is unique and evolves over time. What often emerges is a greater sense of freedom, competence, and connection to others.

Many of my patients navigate complex experiences related to race, culture, class, sexuality, gender expression, and/or political and ecological concerns. Sometimes the focus is on relationships, work, grief or trauma. But we also make room for feelings that can be harder to name, like alienation, rage, self-doubt, and uncertainty in a rapidly changing world.

Therapy can be a place to turn toward, sit with, and learn from such experiences – and discover ways forward. Over time, understanding, self-compassion, and a sense of agency can deepen, even as we explore the personal impacts of systems large and small. We learn to hold the past and present in new ways, making room for belonging, creativity, and change.
