I love children, and especially appreciate the opportunity to work with young children and their parents. I believe that when a child is struggling with some type of emotional or behavioral issue, it is important for them to have a safe place to discuss their concerns and feel that they have someone "on their side." My office is filled with toys and art projects to help any child feel safe and comfortable. I have specific experience with young children, and had a postdoctoral specialization with two to six-year-olds. I especially enjoy this age because I feel that if they have a positive experience in counseling now, it will carry with them for the rest of their childhood. Woodhaven is a great place to practice because we have therapists specializing in all different areas. This allows us to work together to treat the whole family (e.g., individual parents, siblings, marital, etc.). I love working with my colleagues to help families succeed.
