About

Symptoms arise in the context of trying to adapt to something difficult in one's life. This may be an adaptation to a painful relationship, a work situation, or a physical limitation. Symptom relief comes with an initial understanding of the meaning of the problem, and then working with specific strategies to manage the problem differently. Our work will focus on who you are as a person and how your particular set of symptoms or issues have evolved for you in the context of your life as a whole.

My professional background includes completing an internship at a Harvard-affiliated hospital, a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Health, and a certificate in psychoanalysis at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis. I was also the Director of Psychology Training at the Brookline Community Mental Health Center for over 30 years.

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families for over 25 years. Working across the lifespan has provided me with a unique perspective on how we as humans cope in a complicated world.
