About

I believe the meaning we create from our experiences and environment plays a significant role in shaping how we navigate, adapt, and survive the world. My priority is that we cultivate a collaborative non-judgmental therapeutic relationship that centers on safety, positive regard, genuineness, and openness. Within this space, my clients will be able to freely explore their vulnerabilities, express distressful emotions (pain, grief, anger, etc.), make greater meaning out of their experiences, and redefine past experiences.

I utilize a strength-based trauma-informed emotion-focused approach to help clients reach their authentic selves. This perspective considers biological, social, psychological, spiritual, and cultural factors when trying to understand others. I believe transformation and healing are the result of learning, understanding, and redefining our past experiences.

I work well with all age ranges and couples at various stages in their mental health journey. As a person of color, I have an awareness of multicultural factors, the ways they intersect, and how they can impact various experiences. I tend to draw on not only my training but also my personal experiences in my work with clients.
