About

My goal as a substance use disorder counselor is to assist clientele in identifying their needs and goals of addiction recovery and to help them, learn to help themselves. Many of the clients I see suffer from co-occurring disorders with mental health disorders playing a major role in their ability to remain abstinent from alcohol and/or other drugs. Within that framework of how mental health interacts with addiction, I can provide the client with evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions that can interrupt the relapse process, enabling them to live the life they want to live. As a substance use disorder counselor, I have 10+ years of experience in the field, ranging from MAT and methadone, to residential services, and started A Different Lens Counseling as a way to provide a level of care somewhere in between. I offer compassionate, empathic and evidence-based care for those struggling with active substance use or maintenance.

I have a vast knowledge of the challenges involved in active addiction and the chaos that it presents in a person’s life. I know that people who struggle from addiction are individuals, needing individualized treatment. You’re not an “addict,” “junkie” or “alcoholic,” you’re a person. Let’s begin your journey of recovery together.
