About

You’ve been through so much, and trauma has a way of taking over everything. Maybe to cope, you try to keep yourself busy with work, schoolwork, or home tasks so you don't have to think about it all. Most of the time, though, it's all you can think about. It can impact your relationships, too. It can be hard for others who haven't been through similar struggles to truly understand what you're going through. Even for you, finding the right words to explain it all can be difficult. This makes connecting with others a bit more challenging.

But trauma doesn’t have to define you. It doesn’t have to take over your days, your thoughts, your relationships and work. Even the trauma that comes from marginalization and oppression does not have to be all of who you are. You are not PTSD, depression, or anxiety. Therapy can be where you separate what has happened to you, from who you are and want to be.

Therapy can be a place to find peace, clarity or even joy in the middle of the hard things in life. If you are interested in getting started with therapy, sign up for a session directly on my calendar or call our office to schedule.
