Real change requires more than just talking about our problems. But this doesn't have to be a painful process, in fact it can be deeply nourishing and uplifting. I specialize in Internal Family Systems or "parts work", a kind of collaborative meditation where we get in touch with parts of ourselves that have been rejected by others and ourselves. Building compassion and tenderness towards these parts where we get stuck allows for a renewed sense of freedom, freshness, and possibility in our lives. Most clients I see are working through some kind of trauma, whether that is "big T" or "little t" trauma. This can show up as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, or even chronic pain or fatigue. Clients who want to work with me don't have to have a meditation practice or be Buddhists, but openness and curiosity to these approaches will be helpful.
